Kilo Invasion
Pladib was first opened in 2000 as a tiny restaurant situated at Tavej Pier on the Chaopraya River in Bangkok. It moved to its new, permanent home in the Areesumphan area just three years later, and has slowly established itself as offering contemporary fusion fare that is unique and experimental, using fresh local produce and home-grown ingredients to create an eclectic choice of cuisines.
They started a small urban farm at the back of the restaurant in 2013, growing vegetables, herbs, and mushrooms in an aquaponic greenhouse and an outdoor farming area. This farm-to-table concept was just one of the characteristics that drew Kilo to Pladib; ultimately, Kilo also shares Pladib’s philosophy of good eating and good living, and that is how we’ve come to collaborate for Kilo Invasion, bringing a taste of Kilo to Bangkok.
We took over the Pladib kitchen on the 24th of June, and whipped up a smorgasbord of flavours. Stay tuned to find out when and where our next creative collaboration will happen.
