Starting off in the late days of acid house, through the sounds of early 90’s New York, right up to the present, his sound mirrors all of these eclectic influences whilst maintaining a distinctly contemporary edge.
Whether opening room 1 or closing room 2 at London’s seminal Fabric club or playing some of the most famous festivals in the world, it’s this level of experience and eclecticism which has seen him play alongside acts as diverse as Skream, Carl Cox, James Zabiela and Groove Armada and Marc is a welcome addition to the rich musical tapestry of Bali and a valued member of the 40 Thieves Team[PART II: Kilo Bali at 40 Thieves (feat. Kilo’s first overseas endeavor is situated on the beautiful shores of Bali, along the Jalan Drupadi stretch in the vibrant Seminyak district. Opened in September 2014, Kilo Bali offers Kilo’s signature dishes, but also presents specials that are created with local ingredients and produce in mind in the hopes of transforming the sharing experience while captivating the diner’s imagination and palate. Distinguished by unconventional and modern minimalist architecture that challenges the traditional landscape, Kilo Bali offers a quiet respite away from all the hustle and bustle.
Ulysses draws from a wide repertoire of musical styles ranging from house, slow-mo beat down bangers, disco, jazz, techno, broken beats, and anything that is across the sonic spectrum. “Good music is simply good music. I refuse to be pigeon-holed and the crowd shouldn’t be either!” This personal philosophy and love for quality music has led him to co-founding the quartet MUGIC, infamous for their parties at the now defunct Night and Day Bar and now spreading their musical vibes at The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Ulysses has also played alongside some of Singapore’s finest tastemakers and luminaries from the world over such as Jerome Syndenham, Francois K, Deetron, Todd Terje, to name a few. He has also been invited twice to perform on Lush 99.5FM’s “Clubscape with Chris Ho”.
