SHIGEKI
After migrating to Sydney from his native Japan, Shigeki discovered his passion for house music when he hit the clubs on Sydney’s famous Oxford Street scene in 1999. This experience was the catalyst for a sea-change and within a few short years was born one of the hottest stars on Sydney’s club music scene after scoring weekly residencies at Sydney’s legendary venues, Stonewall and Midnightshift.
Having established himself as a credible master of the decks for the club crowds week after week, and admired for his impecible technical mixing and inspiring track choices, Shigeki graduated to bigger events and his dynamic and unique sound captured the hearts and attention of local and interstate promoters. It wasn’t long before Shigeki had some of the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest premier events on his resume: Sydney Mardi Gras Party, Sleaze Ball, Homesexual, Harbour Party, Inquisition and Toybox to name but a few.
In 2005 Shigeki made his international debut at Happy in Singapore and this spurred his subsequent relocation to the island 3 years later. Having relocated to one of SE Asia’s nightlife hubs Shigeki was able to grow his international following – he has been a regular guest DJ for the Atlantis cruises, and has spun at Singapore’s Play, Rewind, House, Stereolab and Velvet Underground as well as internationally in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bali, Hong Kong, Osaka, Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei.
From 2010 to 2012 Shigeki worked at KUDÉTA Singapore at Marina Bay Sands SkyPark as a resident DJ. He regularly receives bookings for high profile events involving world’s leading brands such as Adidas, Gucci and BMW. Outside of the DJ console, Shigeki compiles unique music playlists for Scarlet Hotel and CINQ hair salon. He was also in the cast of The Hossan Leong Show in 2009, 2010 and 2011 at the Drama Centre Theatre.
DODGY YAMAMOTO
Chief of Controlled Chaos & Head Hedonist of the extra-Spectaculaire, this once top level member of Ali Baba famous 40 thieves; ex-secret service ninja of Japan’s oniwaban intelligence agency has a darker side… Even the keenest of observers would never have guessed that YAMAMOTO, who oft dabbles in nonsensical business & miscellaneous hobbies such as international espionage, would one day become a trailblazing, scene driving, boogie inducing, equator circling dance music elite. A true purveyor of house music, DODGY YAMAMOTO’s profound passion for the lustful
& filthy, together with his keen ear for all things deep, dark & dirty, dives into the transcendental depths of underground house.
DODGY YAMAMOTO on the controls means the deepest, filthiest house grooves: techy, tribal rhythms with electronic sub-plots, dashes of dub, hints of jazz and splashes of old-
