Chymera hails originally from Cork, Ireland & after spending time in Dublin, Costa Rica & Barcelona is currently based in Berlin. Throughout his teenage years he was heavily immersed in various forms of guitar based music. Around the turn of the century his ear was drawn towards sounds of a more electronic nature & he quickly started collecting records & learnt how to DJ.
In 2002 he made his first steps into production, gradually honing his skills over the following years. His productions often fit comfortably in between house & techno, & range from deeper cuts to epic, big-room tracks, all with a keen sense of melody which has become a trademark of his productions. His first international releases came about in late 2006 which brought him to the attention of the wider world.
Since then he has released on various diverse & respected labels such as Delsin Records, Ovum Recordings, NRK, Cocoon, Figure, KOMPLEX DE DEEP records & Connaisseur Recordings who released his 2012 album “Death By Misadventure” which showcased a more introspective side: “Infusing chillout, classical, and dance, Death By Misadventure is an impassioned undertaking that pays off in spades.. …for folks who enjoy music with depth and vision” – Velanche.com
