French-born DJ and producer Francois K. has played a fundamental role in dance music’s circuitry since he moved to New York in the 70’s. Originally a jazz drummer, he turned his attention to DJ-ing after failing to break through on the former chosen instrument. After landing a gig with one of the greatest disco labels in that era, Prelude Records, Francois taught himself how to edit on tapes, and launched his studio career doing re-edits of tracks for DJs. The progression of his DJ career saw him regularly invited to some of NYC’s best dance clubs such as Studio 54 and Paradise Garage. After 4 decades in the game, Francois K. is still on point channeling his energy into his legendary parties Body & Soul and Deep Space, while still touring the globe to spread his gospel.
