Almost there, but not quite—still, we know everyone’s been waiting for such a long time for the return of Kilo Lounge, and we can’t contain our excitement either. In the spirit of the very first Kilo Lounge, we’re continuing our series of UNDER CONSTRUCTION parties over the weekend so you can get a preview of our new, raw space—not 100% there yet, but still great enough to have a good party—to get you by until our official opening at a date that will be announced soon.
Rawjak is about diversity. The Rawjak sound resists classifications, instead bringing an eclectic mix of slinky rhythms and infectious raw beats tailored to move the soul in the way only music can. Mr. Has takes over the Kilo Lounge decks for an exclusive all-night-long series, continuing the tradition from Kampong Bugis to Tanjong Pagar.
Mr. Has
Mr. Has is a Singaporean DJ/producer and the current Asia Pacific Music Director for W Hotels. It is a role that sees him curating and overseeing the musical aesthetic of W’s family of hotels, while keeping his finger on the pulse of music, fashion, and design. Mr. Has is one of the key figures in Singapore’s music scene, and his work has introduced underground and cutting-edge club sounds into the island’s nightlife. Beyond Singapore, his genre-bending sets have also gained traction on international stages: from Bali to Puerto Rico, New York to Berlin, London to Ibiza, he has spun at reputable clubs and parties around the world.
Rawjak is Mr. Has’ own label, through which he promotes local and international electronic artists. It is a platform on which he rolls out monthly podcasts, and where he released his debut album, Ten Kingdoms, in 2010, which won him JUICE Magazine’s Best Electronic Music Producer award. He can also be heard on Lush 99.5FM on its bi-monthly Lush Mix programme.
